Lumbar Laminectomy with Foraminectomy

Lumbar laminectomy and foraminotomy procedures are often used to relieve pressure on the spinal cord, nerves and surrounding tissues for those with spinal stenosi, herniated or budging vertebral disc spaces. The surgery involves removing a portion of the lamina (on the back of the vertebrae) and the opening of the nerve root passageways out of the spine.
